Sometimes we have to answer the unknown numbers that call us. An Australian has finally realized this, after she turns down numerous calls from a company responsible for announcing good news for her.
On February 2, A.J Powerball, the equivalent of the Australian lottery, announces the jackpot winning numbers in today’s drawing, i.e. 40 million Australian dollars (approximately 25 million euros). But against all odds, no one showed up to claim the jackpot. The Australian Lottery may call the lucky winner many times, the calls remain unanswered…
So Australian playmaker The Lott decided to use extreme measures to get to the biggest winner, a woman from the state of Victoria, in southeastern Australia. As DC’s website says, The Lott publishes a press release and relays its message on social networks.
“Oh my God, I can quit my job!”
“If you see a wave of missed calls on your phone, you may be the winner we are trying to contact about life-changing news,” The Lott wrote at the time.
The announcement paid off in the end. The next day, the winning Australian logged into her account – she played the lottery on the Internet – and realized that she had won. The Australian operator who runs the lottery called him“I thought it was a scam,” she explains of the unanswered calls.
“Oh my God, I can quit my job,” the grand winner also rejoiced. “I will be able to take time out to spend time with my family”; captivated.
