In a recent development, a new version of a lawsuit targeting Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin is set to be filed soon. The lawsuit accuses Baldwin of allegedly inciting his social media followers against the family of a Marine who tragically lost his life in Afghanistan. Although the original lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge, the family has been invited to rewrite and resubmit it.

Representing the Marine’s family, attorney Dennis Postiglione is working diligently to meet the deadline set by the judge. The renewed allegations against Baldwin include claims of online threats and harassment, seeking to shed light on the distress caused to the grieving family.

Originally, the lawsuit had sought $25 million in damages, but it was dismissed by Judge Edgardo Ramos in Manhattan. Ramos based his dismissal on the grounds that Baldwin’s comments were protected under the First Amendment, and there was a lack of sufficient evidence for actual malice.

It is important to note that Baldwin had initially donated $5,000 to the Marine’s family after learning about the tragic incident. However, the situation took a turn when Baldwin reached out to one of the Marine’s sisters through Instagram.

During this exchange, the sister had shared a photo of demonstrators from former President Donald Trump’s rally on the day of the Electoral College vote count for the 2020 presidential election. Baldwin, upon seeing the photo, expressed his intention to share it with his 2.4 million Instagram followers and wrote, “Good luck.”

In the lawsuit, the sister has made it clear that she neither supported nor condoned the rioting that took place at the Capitol. After cooperating with the FBI, she was cleared of any wrongdoing.

As of now, a lawyer representing Alec Baldwin has not responded to requests for comment regarding the new lawsuit. Many eagerly await the actor’s response and how this legal battle will unfold.

The upcoming court proceedings will determine the validity of the allegations against Baldwin and shed light on the issue of holding public figures accountable for the potential consequences of their online actions.
