Ho Chi Minh City and CSIRO (Australia) collaborate on technologies and innovation
Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, welcomed Jonathan Law, Executive Director of the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO).

During the reception, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Duong Anh Duc acknowledged the remarkable progress in relations between Vietnam and Australia in all fields, including politics, defence, security, investment, trade, culture, education, science and technologies.
Recognizing the role of CSIRO, he suggested that the city and the Australian organization intensify their cooperation regarding innovative open startup models and connecting startup ecosystems, and share experiences in developing the triple helix connectivity model. ).
He also suggested implementing strategies to commercialize university research results, policies and models to attract private sector participation in developing the ecosystem of innovative start-ups.
Jonathan Law, Executive Director of CSIRO welcomed these suggestions, and said that his organization has experiences and strengths in developing the Triple Helix model as well as in putting forward the application of scientific research from universities and research institutes in commercial products in the service of daily life. He said CSIRO is willing to share its experiences with Ho Chi Minh City.
He added that CSIRO is ready to join the City’s Digital Transformation and Innovation Week (WHISE) at the end of this year to exchange with Ho Chi Minh City knowledge and experience in technology development and innovation.
CSIRO maintains close relations with Vietnam, and has cooperation projects in the fields of aquaculture, aerospace and future technologies. CSIRO is one of the sponsors and directors of the Aus4Innovation Program, which has been implemented in Vietnam since 2018.
