Canfield Woman Battling Breast Cancer Receives Support from Nightbirde Foundation
Jessica Miller, a Canfield woman, is defying the odds as she fights breast cancer while simultaneously pursuing her dream of becoming a mother. Thanks to the Nightbirde Foundation, founded in memory of an Ohio woman who lost her battle to cancer, Miller is getting one step closer to making her dream a reality.
Miller’s cancer journey began when she started experiencing a shooting pain near her heart and discovered a lump in her breast. After receiving the devastating diagnosis, she hesitated to undergo a double mastectomy and chemotherapy due to her desire to have children. However, she refused to let her dreams be shattered and began exploring alternative treatments.
It was during her research that Miller came across breast cryoablation, a unique treatment that freezes eligible breast tumors while preserving fertility. The hope of being able to start a family despite her diagnosis provided Miller with a glimmer of hope in her darkest moments.
In her search for support, Miller found solace in the Nightbirde Foundation. The foundation, which partners with women battling cancer, aims to provide hope and healing. Upon reaching out to the organization, Miller received an unexpected donation of $5,000 from Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski’s brother, Mitch. The emotional gesture gave Miller the boost she needed to keep fighting.
However, the foundation didn’t stop there. Miller was also presented with a challenge: raise $10,000, and the Nightbirde Foundation would double the amount to support her treatment. This generous offer not only gave Miller the financial means to pursue her dream of becoming a mother but also provided her with a renewed sense of hope in her cancer journey.
With the funds from the Nightbirde Foundation, Miller was able to undergo the alternative treatment she had been hoping for. A few months ago, the results of her blood work came back clear, indicating a positive response to the treatment. Excited and relieved, Miller eagerly awaits her upcoming appointment with her oncologist.
Jessica Miller’s story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of support. Thanks to the Nightbirde Foundation and the love and generosity of the Marczewski family, Miller is not only battling cancer but is also one step closer to fulfilling her dream of becoming a mother. Her journey serves as an inspiration to others facing similar challenges, proving that even in the darkest times, there is always hope.
