The design of the Nothing Phone (2) was revealed by OnLeaks. You’ll have to wake up early to see the differences with the previous model.
In a game of cat and mouse, the leakers seem to have won. Nothing, a young London company started by Carl Pei, formerly of OnePlus, used to filter organized leaks around its products. They will have no rest here with Nothing Phone (2).
Their second smartphone to date, slated for July 2023, has been revealed by leaker OnLeaks, known for its reliability along with its full design. Smartprix.com.
A few differences in design, more on the technical sheet
At first glance, the released images show the smartphone to be in every way similar to its critically acclaimed predecessor.
As a forerunner, these images are reliable because, according to the Smartprix article accompanying the leak, they were created from actual images of a unit under test. On the other hand, for critical accuracy, it is still possible to introduce small changes.
To get an idea of the possible differences between phone (2) and phone (1), a small screenshot underlines them in red rectangles.
We note that the edge of the photo module has evolved somewhat with the integration of a dual LED flash system to better illuminate the night scene. Another “big” change is that the notification LED will adopt a more visible design. It’s already one of those lines of communication that none of it already has a lot of emphasis on.
Among the notable changes mentioned by SmartPrix is the “updating” of its Glyph, the LED system at the back, the slightly curved back, and the same as the front, both should have a 2.5D design.
We also notice that the frame is no longer perfectly flat, but slightly rounded. Which completely removes the phone (2) from comparing the phone (1) to the affected (or benefited?) iPhone.
